I’m Moving My Newsletter Posts to Substack
Share
I love writing to readers, but I’ve found the traditional newsletter format a bit… noisy. I want a space that feels calmer and more personal, where I can share longer posts and extras without worrying about subject lines, inbox rules, and “marketing email” expectations. So I’m moving to Substack.
Why Substack?
Because it’s a better home for fiction snippets.
Instead of everything landing as an “email campaign”, Substack lets me publish short pieces of my novels in a way that feels like reading, and not being marketed to. You can read each post in your inbox or online, and you can easily find older posts again later (which is almost impossible with a standard newsletter).
In practical terms:
- posts are clean and easy to read (especially on mobile)
- they’re archived so you can catch up anytime
- you’re less likely to miss them in a Promotions tab
- and if you feel like it, you can reply, which I genuinely enjoy
What you’ll find there
My Substack is for snippets from my novels: slices of story you can read in a few minutes.
Depending on the week, that might mean:
- a short excerpt from a novel (a scene, a moment, a turning point)
- a standalone “snapshot” from one of my story worlds
- occasional reader extras (a deleted moment, an early peek, a seasonal snippet)
It’s not meant to be overwhelming, but just a small, regular dose of Nordic romance to brighten your day.
What’s changing (and what isn’t)
A few reassurances, because inboxes are personal and your attention matters.
- This Shopify store stays exactly as it is. It’s still the best place for ebooks, paperbacks, bundles, and direct support.
- You’ll still hear about new releases and special offers. Substack is simply where the fiction posts will live, in a format that suits them.
- You stay in control. Read by email or online, and unsubscribe anytime with one click.
How to follow along
If you’d like to come with me, you can subscribe on Substack with your email, and you’ll receive the story snippets as I publish them. You can also read them online whenever it suits you. Go here 👉 https://substack.com/@helenahalmeauthor
Thank you, as always, for reading — and for supporting my books. I’m hoping this change makes things feel calmer, more enjoyable, and more focused on what brought us here in the first place: story.
PS: To celebrate Valentine’s Day, my ebook, To Melt a Frozen Heart, is free until 19 February. If you’d like a snowy Lapland romance escape, you can tap this universal link: https://books2read.com/ToMeltAFrozenHeart and choose your favourite retailer. It’s also available in my shop. 😉
