The forests of Lapland are burning with autumn colour — and so are the feelings Lily thought she’d left behind.
After a devastating betrayal by her university mentor, brilliant history graduate Lily Wootton escapes Edinburgh and London to Ylläs to spend the Ruska season with her sister, Kat. Hiking through golden birch forests, helping with the Äkäslompolo village festival, and soaking in the peace of Lapland seems like the perfect way to work out what she really wants from life.
But when the festival loses its sponsor, Lily is horrified to discover that the Andersson family’s mining company has stepped in — and even more shocked to find herself working alongside Joak, the environmental activist she shared one unforgettable night with at Kat’s wedding.
Now, as stalls fill with cloudberry jam, cinnamon buns, and skies are alight with a carpet of stars, Lily and Joak are forced together. Their chemistry is undeniable, but so are their differences. Can they find a way to bridge the gap — or will Lily have to risk it all for a love that may not last?
To Risk It All is the third book in The Anderssons series, but it can also be read as a stand-alone novel. Perfect for readers who love emotional slow-burn romance, family drama, and the unforgettable magic of Lapland in autumn.

I really looked forward to catching up with Lily and Joak as I wanted them to develop their relationship. Obviously nothing is easy and uncomplicated for these two but life & relationships seldom are.
They have, however, matured and despite sometimes frustrating twists and turns centered around the community event at Äkäslompolo there seems to be hope for them.
I do hope the writer will not abandon Lily and Joak as I have grown quite fond of them
and there certainly is more potential for further interesting stories from the beautiful setting in
Äkäslompolo.
I don't read romance apart from Helena Halme's books. Her descriptions of relationships are realistic and the characters are too, they have flaws, insecurities and the main characters learn and grow during the stories. I started this book with liking the characters, then finding most of them annoying and ending up with liking them again. Why don't people talk to each other? As an event organiser myself I also had to ask how could Kat and Mikael have made such a bad contract with the first event sponsor? And this wasn't the first time for the event, why they hadn't translated marketing materials moths ago to attract tourists? It's an outdoor event in Lapland in October and they are setting up stuff on the field even weeks in advance. Good luck with that, especially with everything electrical and everything that can blow away in the wind. Also, graduates get their white hats after the matriculation examination in the spring of the year when they turn 19 never 17. But this didn't take away from the romance and the nice Ida subplot.
